30-Day Worship Challenge Day 25 : El Qanna

30-Day Worship Challenge Day 25 : El Qanna

-Exodus 20:5-6-

We worship today because He is El Qanna, the jealous God.

The Hebrew word qanna means jealous. When it is used with El (God), it denotes the jealous God.

God isn’t jealous in an insecure or temperamental way. He doesn’t manipulate or try to control people the way worldly jealousy does. The word qanna comes from the loving care a husband has for his wife. Just as a husband wishes to be the primary person for his wife, God desires the prime place in our hearts.

El Qanna, the jealous God, longs for each of us to put Him first in our lives. He desires to be your priority, not because of His need for attention or ego, but because He knows what is best for you.

Today, purpose not to give anyone or anything a higher priority in your heart than God. Give your heart completely to Jesus. You will be eternally blessed, and you will be right with El Qanna
