Christ our solid ROck ...

Text: Joshua 1:9

“9Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” (NIV)

Our journey in Christ can sometimes be challenging. Trials that come our way can discourage us and make us question our beliefs and decision to follow Christ.

Today, we are reminded of Joshua the successor of Moses (God called him into leadership after Moses died). It is interesting to note the meaning of his name. In the Hebrew language, his name translates -Yehoshua` which means Jehovah is my help or Jehovah is salvation, or Jehovah the Savior.

Even with a name like this, God had to verbally remind Joshua of his presence in his life. You see, Joshua was being called to a big task of leading the entire nation of Israel to the promise land. There was going to be a lot of resistance and battles along the way and Joshua knew it. He had watched Moses encounter several resistance during his leadership.

Beloved, the journey to the promise is not always easy. It can be daunting. God never promised ease and luxury, rather we are assured over and over again that He is with us in EVERY circumstance.

What are you facing today that requires God’s assurance of His presence? What situation seems impossible in your life today?

God is commanding us to be strong and courageous for He who has called us is with us. When we stand in Christ, the storms will come, difficulties will rise BUT, His promises will never fail.

BE STRONG, COURAGEOUS AND DO NOT BE AFRAID.

Meditate on this and pray that God will remind you of his promises daily and give you the strength to stand in every life circumstance. Pray that His presence will abide with you wherever you go.
